“Everyone should shoot in 4K,” say industry figures

At this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), Canon is celebrating its past and bringing you its future. The event, which Canon will be at from 14 to 18 September in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is one of the largest media and technology shows in the world. Canon is excited to feature what 60 years of technological evolution in broadcast looks like.

French filmmaker and Canon Ambassador Sébastien Devaud specialises in commercials, music videos and filming for major French broadcasters. He uses a huge range of Canon cameras and lenses, with his favourite being the Canon EOS C300 Mark II. He will also be at IBC talking about his favourite new bits of Canon kit, so come to talk to him.

Visit the workflow zone to learn how to work with Canon’s Cinema Raw Light format. The 12-bit raw recording enables some of the highest quality internal recording possible with Canon’s Cinema EOS cameras.
Danish filmmaker Nicolai Brix recently shot a moody, atmospheric film about a boxer in training, using a Canon EOS C200 and the Cinema Raw Light format. Nicolai is attending IBC and will be on the Canon stand, ready to speak about his workflow with the compact video camera and versatile format.
At the monitor zone, we will be displaying the Canon DP-V2421 and Canon DP-V1711 monitors, which use the latest firmware that won a coveted 2018 HPA Award for Engineering Excellence. This zone will be spotlighting Canon's technical and creative ingenuity, with an extensive HDR toolkit to archive accurate UHD HDR shooting and finishing.
